How To Stay Focused And Motivated!

1. Keep A Diary of everyday activity especially a food diary and exercise diary. Log what you do each day to keep you more aware of what you ate or didn’t eat. Write down if you had any temptations, keep track of all your exercises you do and how long each exercise was.

2. Set A Goal to look forward to trying a 5k race or even fitting into a bikini you have not been able to wear, fitting into old clothes, or losing 1lb/week. Focus on that goal and never let it slip your mind until you achieve it! Make sure your goal is realistic and realize that you are capable of pushing yourself even when you don’t feel like it.

3. Set a regular workout time/routine everyday set a time to workout so it then becomes habit. You won’t have to think twice about working out, you’ll just do it (like Nike). Push yourself and take initiative. Write a reminder on your calendar or phone calendar for that little extra push.

4. Have fun and change it up it is nice to have a variety so you don’t get bored doing the same thing over and over again. Include workout exercises that you truly enjoy, juggle a soccer ball, dancing, or hula hooping. When you really find something you enjoy doing you forget you are even working out.

5. Listen to your inner voice to do what you feel, if your voice is telling you to get up and run, then just do it! Get up a run, don’t think twice about it and don’t wait for that little “devil” voice to say, “No, I’m tired, I think I’ll sleep in more”.

6. Look for support. Ask your roommate, family or friends involved. Try to set a workout date with them, talk to people at your local gym, I guarantee there are people going through the same thing you are. Don’t be scared to talk to others, it is apart of your journey to explore yourself.
